Ease of use
So far it has been very easy. Just remember that if you are doing a workout with intentions of uploading it to the BT site, that you cannot yet use the multisport feature.
Quality of Construction
Seems solid. There doesn't appear to be any weak areas.
Fit
With the quick release velcro watch band and bike mount, this thing is perfect.
Comfort
While the fit is great, the comfort isn't fully there; as compared to a regular and smaller watch. The velcro quick release band causes the FR305 to sit a little higher off the wrist than with the regular rubber band. Still, it is worth this minor imperfection to have the quick release band.
Adjustability
I like the velcro band. This makes it easy to wear over top of my base layer during these cold months.
Durability
Again, seems like a solid unit. I haven't had the misfortune of an accident... yet.
Value
I feel that I got a good price at $210. I also used an eBay coupon that brought my out of pocket cost to $180 with free shipping.
Appearance
I like the way this gps / watch looks. It has triathlete written all over it (figuratively). A small drawback with the appearance is the size. With the FR405 out now, the FR305 seems a bit big.
Performance
I'll swear by this thing until it breaks. I love all of the features.
Strengths
Details are available for everything!
Weakness
Overall size. The Garmin Training Center program is not impressive, so I pair the FR305 with the free program SportTracks. Shear ease of use and then upload to my BT log.
- 21 people use
- 558 workouts logged
- 14471.26 miles / 1022.68 hours logged
Ease of installation
I was easily able to install the Garmin software on my compy. Installing the cadence and speed sensor and magnets wasn't too challenging either.
