"Still a great training/racing shoe for the price. Glad I am back with Asics again."beadams
Ease of use
Left, right, repeat as necessary.
Quality of Construction
I have never had a quality issue with any Asics and still don't. Typical Asics quality, these are very durable shoes.
Fit
Fit and running shoes is a personal thing, the 2140's fit like its predecessor for me. I tried on Saucony's, Brooks, and Addidas and this was still be best fit and comfort.
Comfort
I had about 400 miles on my old shoes, so it was time to get new kicks. These shoes are forgiving enough for my occasional heal pain but I do not feel the cushion sacrifices effort or speed.
Durability
I see these being the same approximate build quality and design, I see these holding up well like the 2130's. My last 4 pairs of Asics have all worn out the same way, the soles wear down to nearly nothing after about 350-400 miles and the rest holds up great.
Value
The prices went up a bit from 2008 to 2009, I recall paying around $85 for the 2130's, these run about $10 more, thus the "4".
Appearance
Still a very attractive shoe, but frankly these could be all gray and boring so long as I can run well and comfortable that's my sole concern. I have no idea what a "5" would be so its a "4".
Performance
Still breaking them in, I used Asics for a long time and switched to Saucony late last year. I did not do well with those, the Asics feel better right off from the start thus far.
Strengths
Fit, comfort, and performance. Good cushioning and support.
Weakness
None thus far, maybe the price increase but most products have had that in the past year. I don't regret or care about the extra $10.
Ease of installation
Put in the speed laces and off I went.
