"If you can afford it, are willing to put some time in learning what training with power is about or finding a coach that does... or in my case get both. this will help you as long as you put the effort it"Gaarryy

you can get your local shop to do this,, Mine came already laced into a Velocity Deep V wheel. (which I really like also)

it's good to read the manual, but you can figure out most of it very easily

I'm hoping 5 means great, one poor.. It's only been three months but so far so good

this was a wireless unit on a good wheel for less than a thousand dollars.. to me that was a great deal for a Saris Cycle Ops PM

I got it from the bicycle doctor. com. It took an extra week to get the usb cradle but they dealt with the delay very well

I was really worried about getting a power meter since I wasn't sure exactly if
1. i'd use it correctly
2. it would help me
I read the book "training & racing with a power meter a few times before I got it. Just to see if I could get a handle on the techniques involved, but if you have ever trained with a HR monitor you will be able to make the transition. Since December I have rode my trainer more than I have since I've gotten the trainer,,

For me having a structured plan to use was great.. I could see that I really wasn't putting forth the effort that I thought I was, (I was slacking)

Riding outside this weekend with a strong wind I could see just how much effort I was putting out even though my speed was low going into a headwind. And I could really see the effects of drafting in terms of my effort, both at the legal tri distance and when I was holding on to a faster groups wheel.. very cool

Cost.. lets face it this is really a very expensive toy,, If I had the motivation to just ride a lot on the trainer really hard I wouldn't need it...However I can see where using this as a training tool will help me this season and beyond
