"Decent shoe for overpronators; I'm disappointed by how quickly they have started showing signs of wear, though."kat_astrophe

Nicely constructed shoe at first. I have had Saucony shoes before, and they have definitely been good for 300-400 miles in the past -- I expect these shoes to be no different. Decently cushioned stability shoes; much lighter than my last pair of stability shoes, and the posting does its job fine. Despite how nicely these shoes perform at first, though, I'm still only giving them a 3 because of their really short lifespan.

I have a fairly narrow heel and wider toe box. The Hurricane X has quite a roomy toe box -- if you are narrow through the forefoot, these might not be the shoes for you, but they're great for me. This is one of the few pairs of shoes that I haven't had to do that little trick of cinching the shoe tight around the ankle to keep my heel from slipping out, which is nice. Additionally, the middle eyelets on these shoes connect to a plastic band which acts as a sort of foot corset. The foot corset provides a lot of stability and support to your arch, but has also given me some blister problems on long runs.

These shoes are very comfortable for short to medium runs. The excellent cushioning prevents me from getting the blisters on the balls of my feet that used to be a hallmark of running for me. Unfortunately, the Arch Lock is a double-edged sword. While it does work very well in terms of keeping my arches well-supported, on runs longer than 5 miles, it tends to give me little blisters. The blisters are completely painless and don't affect my training, but blisters generally aren't a great thing.

I have put only about 120 miles on these shoes, and the soles are already showing quite a bit of wear. I am a heavier runner (~150 lbs.), and I tend to overstride a bit, but even still I would not expect a pair of shoes to look like this until the 200-250 mile mark. I probably will need to replace these shoes with only 150-175 miles on them.

At $130, these shoes are a bit pricey, especially given that I get blisters wearing them on long runs and that they have only lasted less than 200 miles.

These are pretty cute as running shoes go, mostly silver/white with some teal on them. They don't look freakish, but I wouldn't wear them out to dinner either.

They're a bit heavier than racing flats, so you probably won't get the speed that you would get with flats. But then again, these shoes are designed for mild to moderate overpronators, so if you need them you probably shouldn't train in racing flats anyway. They also don't feel as heavy to me as my previous pairs of stability shoes (NB W882, preceded by some model of Asics) have been. I haven't gotten enormously better at running, but in the few runs since switching to the new shoes, my pace per mile has dropped 15 seconds. The cushioning is adequate and holds up over at least 5-mile runs. I have run up to 8.5 miles in these shoes without experiencing foot pain.

Good shoe for overpronators, comfortably roomy toe box, foot corset thing, not horribly heavy, reasonably flexible.

High price, low durability, ArchLock is only really a plus for 10k or shorter runs.
