"I've been very happy with this bike. If I had it to do over, I'd have chosen a double rather than the triple and sucked it up. I might have improved faster, if I had."NoSit

I regretted going for the triple chainring almost immediately after I got this bike, but I didn't think I was ready to downsize to just 2 rings. I had trouble with the bottom bracket seals after about 1000 miles and had to have it re-sealed. I think the seals are going again, so I'll probably just replace the whole thing next time.

My LBS did a great job fitting this bike - I rode 5-6 other brands and models and definitely felt this one was comfortable right away. It only took some tweaking to get it just right.

See "Fit".

It's a bike, do what needs to be done!

See "Quality of Construction" re bottom bracket. The tires that were on it were crap, too. I kept getting flats, so switched to some better ones and haven't had a problem since.

This bike will likely last the rest of my life, so I can't do better than that.

White? Puh-lease! It's pretty easy to find in transition, though.

This applies to my LBS - Wheelworks in Davis, CA. I haven't dealt with Specialized.

Excellent choice for a first road bike.

It's a Specialized! (I've always wanted one, since the Rockhopper came out.)
The carbon seat tube, stays and fork are nice for handling and lightening the bike.

Bottom bracket seals were weak and failed too early in the lifetime of this bike (don't know if this was a construction problem or a manufacturing problem, though).
Aluminum frame, but for the price? I'll take it.
