"the available info while running (pace, actual dist and even HR) are all I need for my training,
Comes with a very handy multisport setting - I did a triathlon where a friend held the unit while I swam, and she handed to me as I came out of the watr. The lap button will give you T laps as well as recognize your next sport.
UPDATE: 6 months into using it - NO regrets! this is the best tool I could have invested my money into. Yes, the 310 has longer life battery and better waterproofability but this is still a very good piece of equipment for half the price."TrkHilo2k
Ease of use
has lots of features, which can make it complicated but reading the instructions helps (sorry, I'm a guy). UPDATE: i am still finding useable features every week.
Quality of Construction
shame that it isn't water tight - ervything else seems sturdy. UPDATE: can be used underwater for bouts that are less than 30 secs (strokes are), I haven't had an issue in the water, though I do not reccomend for swim training.
Fit
great fit, even comes w extra strap for wider wrists. UPDATE: optional acesories are relativeky cheap
Comfort
although it is bulky, I feel no difference from a regular watch while working out.
Adjustability
great fit, extra strap for wider wrists, chest strap is very comfy. UPDATE: optional accesories (bike mount and quick change strap) make it even better.
Durability
not sure yet. EXCELLENT - been using in water w/o problems, just keep it above as much as possible but it is water resistant.
Value
i believe this is a real value at $150 vs. other HRMs and GPS units.
Appearance
a bit bulky, but this is necessary to house the GPS system. UPDATE: u can't even tell the difference between this and a Timex when working out.
Customer Service
not sure yet - 6 mo including underwater and haven't had the need to call CS - awesome quality.
Performance
sometimes it takes a while to find a GPS signal but once it locks it works fine/very accurate.
Strengths
to me, knowing my actual dist. as well as pace is what I need to train better.
Weakness
size, and time it takes to lock the signal
can't rush into your run right out of the house. UPDATE: It's only weakness? It isn't suitable for pool training.
