"Overall I had no problem with this device and will continue to use it for future open water swims and rough water training. It does provide peace of mind."fla-boy
Quality of Construction
appears to be well made however difficult to determine this with not even one season completed.
Fit
no chaffing after several miles of open water swimming. That was my #1 concern using this product.
Comfort
Once I was in the water I never knew it was on. My hands never once accidently hit any part of it.
Adjustability
I don't know if it's possible but I'd like to see the adjustablility made so it could be done in the water. Once your in deep open water stopping to see what you're adjusting just isn't an option.
Appearance
The inflatable portion is bright yellow as it should be. I'd prefer the cover be a more neutral color, one that doesn't stand out like a glowing worm around my waist.
Performance
Though I felt no obvious drag, given the shape of it there must be some. I don't believe it effected my performance after 2 miles of open water. My race times were consistant with what I expected and my finish was in the top 10%.
Strengths
For me, it's nice to have this with me. Being alone in open water can be a bit nerve wracking even for experienced swimmers. I consider myself a very strong swimmer but I'm also acutely aware that over 95% of triathlon fatalities occue in the swim portion. Not to mention the swim portions of our training.
Weakness
I'd say its biggest weakness would be the overall shape. It's small and relatively flat but I'm wondering if it could be made flatter. Also, the bright orange color really doesn't do it for me. The inflated portion, yes. The cover, no.

Ease of use
simple, two straps that go around your waist.
