"I used this consistently for a year or so and then started training for an Ironman. I never had any issues with it during the first year as most trainer rides were 2 hours or less. When I started training for IM some of my trainer rides went for more than a couple of hours and I think it took its toll on the trainer. Eventually something within the fluid housing broke and it stopped working. I took it back to REI where I bought it and they replaced with a new model. I think if you're riding a trainer for less than 3 hours at a time you won't have a problem. It's when you complete a 5 hour trainer ride that I think you're setting the trainer up for failure regardless whether it's a cyclops or KBK or other brand. My excuse for riding a trainer for 5+ hours is not that I am a glutton for punishment, but I have young kids so getting up at 4am on a Saturday morning to complete a ride was one of my few options.
I would buy it again and I like the fact that I bought it from REI and got such an easy replacement."spidey
