"Overall I not pleased with the workmanship and durability of the FR60. A watch that costs $200 should last at least a couple of years. While, it's served me well over the past 2 years my recent experience with Garmin has been very negative and frustrating. I'm not quite sure I'd buy Garmin again."jaja63

Very easy to install and the footpod is easy to calibrate if need be, though pretty accurate right out of the box.

Overall easy to use and user friendly. Occasional difficulties uploading training data from watch.

After barely two years I've encountered yet more proof of shoddy workmanship or conception. After the broken strap a year ago (see below), my watch is now all but good for the trash. I changed the battery a few months back - carefully following Garmin instructions. Well, I must not have been careful enough because the screws on the back plate came loose today because the holes have broken!! And the waterproof joint was also broken likely because of the parts moving around. So for this watch, very poor workmanship. Neither of the two FR60 (1st one remplaced under warranty) has held up more than a year. My Polar HRM has lasted over 7 years !!
*After 9 months the watch strap broke right where the strap and the watch face come together. As the strap and watch are one you can't just have it repaired they sent me a new watch. Also, this is not an isolated problem but one seen in the Garmin forums.

The watch, HRM strap and the footpod all fit well.

Very comfortable that I even forget I have the HRM strap on.

Change the rating here, too. Barely a year after having to have my watch replaced because of a broken watch strap, my watch is completely out of service because of another broken part (see quality of construction above). Less than a year's life span is far from durable.

Originally though this good value for the money, but not when watch has to be replaced twice in two years. And this is unfortunately not an isolated incident. There are obvious workmanship and conception problems with this model.

(4)

The watch is not nearly as big as some of the GPS ones and comes in some nice colors.

While they responded quickly for my problem with the wrist strap I have had no answer/solution regarding my software problems despite the fact that I contacted them over 3 weeks ago.

(3)

Overall the watch and footpod are very accurate and the latter can be fine tuned. However, the software problems which have affected my watch and the problems uploading training data hinder the use I get out of it.

Easy to use. Accurate.

Poor customer service as of recently and increasing frequency of software problems.
Shoddy workmanship and non replacable parts that break fairly soon (9 months for first watch and barely a year for the second watch).
