"Great company, great value, great shoe."TheMaz

High Quality Construction. Unlike other running shoes I've owned, there has been little deterioration of components. First of all, the adhesives have remained intact: the outsole remains firmly attached to the midsole despite putting over 500 miles on this shoe. The outsole has enough density of material and depth of tread that I was able to wear this shoe way down.

Interestingly enough, the EVA midsole did not show as much wrinkling as did my last pair of Saucony's -- an eyeball (and most likely inaccurate) trick I use to check how much I've compressed it -- so I had to measure wear mostly by miles run.

The fit is perfect for me: I need a broad toe-box, and this shoe allows me the room up front for even miles 24-26 of a marathon, when my feet are probably swollen like a pregnant seal.

The shoe breathes very well for the price. combined with a good tri sock or other moisture wicking material, they feel almost air conditioned sometimes.

Sometimes, the way Asics constructs its shoes, I have difficulty around the base of my pinky toe, what doctors refer to as the "tuberosity of the fifth metatarsil". Its the high amount of webbing, as opposed to the amount of plastic used for the logo on the Asics, that allows the shoe to conform to my foot.

These shoes go the distance. I easily get 350 miles out of each pair, and then only replace when I'm beginning to feel the impact a bit in my knees.

Excellent for the money. High quality and durable. Because this is last year's model, you can most likely find an excellent deal online. If you can find it for this price, I don't think there's a better shoe for you out there -- provided the fit is what you need.

Neutral -- with its blue and white scheme. Sometimes Brooks shoes can be a bit out there: Construction Zone Orange, Martian Green. I like the funcolors -- this shoes, though, is a bit as conservative looking as they come.

Tops. Very responsive, light enough for racing but substantial enough to stand up to heavy training, its been my go-to training shoe for the last two marathon seasons.

Roomy, breathable, inexpensive compared to other shoes in its class.

As it is last year's model, it may be somewhat difficult to find walking into a store. You'll probably have to order it online.
