" bought the Zoot Ultra race shoes from BLBikes.com. I recieved them on Monday and they are pretty slick when you pull them out of the box. I went out to do a brief run and could not resist going barefoot. About a mile in - I started feeling a lot of irritation on the bottom of my foot and started to get a blister. So much for anti-blister... It is almost like the insert feels like a brillo pad. Anyways, they were so light that I had to try them again, so I put them on today with a thin pair of socks and they felt great. There is little to no cushioning so I am not sure how they would do on longer distances but so far so good at about 4 miles. They are very lightweight and are fast. I will try them longer this weekend - but think I am not a sockless runner in these shoes."TriPainter
Fit
Fits like a glove - with only one seam inside there are no high spots.
Comfort
Not much cushioning on the run but the trade out is that they are fast.
Value
$129 still seems a little steep - but with new technology comes a price.
Appearance
Got many looks - bright bright yellow. They definately see you coming! Probably will help a few cars miss me.
Customer Service
I wrote Zoot about the blister on their customer service site and no one responded. Maybe they are busy.
Performance
Blister on the first run - I like them with socks though - they are so lightweight and slip on quick but make sure that your feet are ready for them - maybe walk across the gravel driveway a few times first.
Strengths
Great Looks - Very Lightweight
Weakness
Got a blister in the first run - the insole feels like a brillo pad - I don't see how you can't get a blister.

Quality of Construction
Shoe feels solid - good quality materials - the Yank Up laces work great.
