"If you have opportunity to run off road I highly recommend these shoes. They are about the fastest and most comfortable running shoes I've every had. Yet I could use them as effective day hikers if I needed to. I'm definitely going to use these shoes in races where the run is off road. In fact, it's kind of hard to go back to my road shoes I like these so much. I'm planning on buying a pair for my wife so that she can join me on the trails."heartopener
Quality of Construction
Very well made. My feet feel very confident on the trail in these shoes and I anticipate them lasting a long time.
Fit
These are the best fitting running shoes I've every owned. It's like they just molded to my feet the first time I put them on.
Comfort
Extremely comfortable. I want to wear them all the time. On the trail they feel very stable and comfortable
Durability
They are built to last. Molding around the toe box protects the toes from accidently stubbing/tripping. Rock protection built into the midsole.
Value
I don't often want to spend $100 on a pair of running shoes, but I think that these are definitely worth it.
Appearance
Grey on black. Very bad!
Performance
Very stable on the trail. The shoe is low to the ground so you don't feel that you could easily roll your ankle. The profile is low and wide, kind of like a Porche. Comfortable during the run, though I could use a bit more fore foot cushioning -- but then I'm 200 lbs and like the extra cushioning. I feel fast in them, and sure footed even on rocky unstable terrain. At 13.7 oz they aren't the lightest shoe out there, but they didn't feel heavy to me. A friend of mine who recommended them to me ran a 10K race in them last weekend and clocked 39:40. So they are obviously race worthy.
Strengths
Well made. Extremely comfortable. Stable on the trail. Awesome torsion control and great grip even in the loose stuff. They inspire confidence. And you just look intimidating in them
Weakness
I'd like a bit more cushion in the forefoot. I felt the trail at times a bit more than I'd like, but the rock guard assures a pain free run even in sharp loose rocks.
Ease of use
The shoes come with an advance lacing system -- very triathlon friendly. Just slip them on and pull wire like laces. The shoes tightens up perfectly with that one pull and then you can tuck the extra lacing into a little pocket on the tongue. Sweet!
