"I first sampled this product during the Chicago Marathon expo last October and found myself impressed. I've always had issues keeping down Gu and balancing Gatorade on the course (it's too sugary for me and upsets my stomach). I found the Enlyten sports strips to be an awesome and effective alternative to the gels and beans and blocks that are currently on the market. I like that it can fit in my shorts and is very lightweight so I never notice it during the race. It's nice to be able to pop a strip or two on my tongue and get the hydration I need for the next few miles. Plus it tastes pretty good (I'm a fan of the Grape). If you're looking for more information on Enlyten sports strips, you can visit their site at www.enlytenstrips.com. "RunningJayhawk
Value
For the $10 price point, you get three cassettes of 18 strips each. For the amount of gels that I use typically use, the Enlyten strips are more economical.
Appearance
Small and lightweight. Easily fits into the inside small pocket of running/tri shorts.
Performance
For those of us who can't stomach Gu/PowerGels/the excess sugar in Gatorade, Enlyten is a wonderful alternative. Just like other electrolyte replacements/energy enhancers, it works quickly. However I haven't experienced an odd aftertaste or problems with consistency (like the gels).
Strengths
- Lightweight and compact
- Good taste (offered in Grape, Orange and Vanilla Berry)
- Easy to use and pop into your mouth during a race
- Quickly dissolves in your mouth for a fast reaction so you quickly feel the benefits
Weakness
- Can be a problem to use if your hands are wet or if the cassette gets wet during transition or during your race.

- 0 miles / 0 hours logged
Ease of use
Each cassette (think like a Listserine breath strip) comes with 18 strips. To open, you simply slide the cassette and pull out the desired number of strips (suggested 3 strips per use). Getting the individual strip out of the cassette can be a challenge with even the slightest bit of moisture present. And of course, once one of the strips is out, you can't get it back in.
