"The Thule Roadway 4 bike hitch rack is a great price for a product that withstands the test of time. Our only issue is that the pins seem to be a bit looser now than last year, but we take extra precautionary measures to make sure that it remains secure. "RunningJayhawk
Ease of use
Very easy to take on and off the car. Easy to lift the rack part up and secure bikes to it.
Quality of Construction
Very sturdy product that has safely carted our bikes to multiple races and training classes.
Durability
I've found that the pins tend to come loose after continued use. However we've pulled together our own system of making sure it stays secured. Only once has the upright part "fallen down" while driving, and our bikes were fortunately not hooked up to it at the time. Although I'd venture to say that this was partly due to human error and not securing the pin in the first place (oops).
Value
4 bikes. $200 bucks. I think it's a great price for the quality of the product.
Appearance
Looks great and isn't an eyesore on the car. I like that I can see the very top of the hitch rack out of the rear view mirror.
Strengths
- Easy to take on and off the car.
- Holds multiple bikes securely.
- Affordable
- Looks good as it attaches to the hitch rather than a series of cables and straps.
Weakness
- Security pins tend to come loose after a while.
- Having to put the hitch rack down to access the back door of the car is annoying at times, but par for the course regardless.

Ease of installation
Once we had the hitch hook up installed on our SUV it is a snap to put on and remove.
