"This is the original Garmin 101. "o.d.

I just wear it on my wrist. I never even tried the bicycle mount.

Navigating/programing may take a little getting used to. I would like to program the training assistant while inside the night before, turn it off, then have it ready to go when I turn it on in the morning. It doesn't work that way. Training assistant has to be programmed immediately before use.

If the battery is getting below the 50% reading, it seems harder for it to pick up satilight signals.

Until recently, I had no reason to complain and probably would have given a 5. However, recently the beep became practically inaudible. Only if I hold it to my ear can I hear it. This renders the training assistant virtually useless, unless I am constantly looking at it. I thought there might be a fix or recall on it. I searched the web and found nothing.

Some might complain about the size of this thing on your wrist. Usually, this isn't a problem for me. However, I do some cross training, and it is almost impossible for me to wear doing pushups.

This is actually my second one of these. The first was ate by my wife's dog. I told her "This is my most valuable training tool!" Well, that might be a stretch. Anyway, she bought me a replacement.

Hey, who's doing this for appearances, anyway?

See the above sitings about reception and loss of audio. It really burns throught the batteries, too. I recomend two sets of recharchables. One charging while using the other.

Pacing, interval programming, splits, times, mph, miles per minute,....

Newer models likely make up for the weakneses. It doesn't have the hr monitoring, nor is it downloadable. I don't care about downloading, I can read off the thing as it is. I have a heart rate monitor. Seems like if you cram any more on the screen it would be too confusing to read anyway. Difficulty acquiring a signal sometimes. Short battery life.
