Pre-race routine:

Woke up 2.30 am no chance of falling back asleep.. coffee and oatmael.. jump on bike at 5.30.. cold ride to event

Comments:

Started a little to fast 6.12 but settled in after the first mile. around 7.10 pace felt strong until the last 2 mile but never in doubt about pace
What would you do differently?:

start a little slower say 6.40. and push average pace to 6.50 not 7.10

Warm down:

half mile run with bob to car.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

No taper. rode bike 25 miles the day before race and only 3 hours sleep. plus a beef with Hot peppers the night before was bad idea

Event comments:

This a great half Mary for a P.R plus Khalid Khannouchi chicago Marathon winner was at event and 2 kenyans runners here. Japheth N O Joy 1.05:14 and Daniel Mbogo 1:05:46
post race band was top notch. Plus cold beer

Course: Flat out and back only negative is a banked curve about 1 mile out. on the way out you don't notice it. but on the way back I felt it.Total Elevation only about 800 Ft where you pass over a highway
