Run
Comments: How I could have run 5K in 20:18? Well, I didn't - it was a 2 mile R1 What would you do differently?: prepare for the unexpected (storm, hail, strong wind) Transition 1
Comments: very quick T1, everything in order What would you do differently?: perhaps practice leaving my shoes on the pedals and taking off with them there. Bike
Comments: i dropped the hammer at "go" and didn't look back. Must have passed about 20+ people, eventually started pushing along with another dude and we took it to T2 together What would you do differently?: train high gears Transition 2
Comments: very good T2 only issue at getting off the bike, I still had one shoe on while the other was off (left clipped). This took about 3 secs What would you do differently?: practice quicker dismounts predefine if shoes on or off Run
Comments: very tough run, legs felt fried and didn't respond to speed. What would you do differently?: train intervals and fartleks - speed work. Also need to do some weight for hams and front knee. Post race
Warm down: walk What limited your ability to perform faster: second run, no speed Event comments: I love the fact that this is a series and you get to meet some of the same people from other areas who would not normally race in your destination. Weather did not cooperate with us today but the organizers really worked to make it safe for us. Last updated: 2009-05-11 12:00 AM
