  • Comments: The race started later due to them not being able to setup on the beach due to sea turtles. It was about 30 minutes late. No big deal though. My only other minor gripe was that upon standing in line waiting to get my packet, I was told I needed to step over here to fill out a 1 day USAT sheet and get back in line. A sign indicating this would have been nice as checkout/registration a few days before I thought I payed for it already since I had to 'check' it. I was also a little dismayed of the post race food. There was a lot of it, many assortments of fruit, bagels and croissant sandwiches...but I do love a good grilled hamburg or hot dog after a race - even if still late morning. Maybe that is just me. I gave it a '5' though as the venue was superb and the race was well-run with plenty of volunteers and police at all intersections. You couldn't get lost and it was safe. I love the ocean, I love the beach and it had the most gigantic, white sandy beach for the kids to

  • Comments: Consistent 4th place in all events except...T1/T2..."arrgghhh!" Hope God tells me to volunteer for any Tri's i cant/wont do; the Late set up of Buoys & the LATE starts for all concerned, as well as beach/heat conditions tell me that no way, NO WAY (!), i'll ever do an august olympic distance Tri at Siesta; again i say NO WAY! O/wise, i am appreciative of all the volunteers who did show, and did try their best for us particapants. Gods blessing to all!

  • Comments: i could have pushed harder on the run and ghained a few seconds at risk of overheating, but I had plenty of energy when crossing the finish line

  • Comments: i was overly surprised by the number of volunteers & guards, and then the post race food (wow!!). not much in regards to activities. I did this race a few yrs ago when it was part of the Publix circuit and was very disappointed then, but this is a big improvement from then even though it is still organized by AltaVista.

  • Comments: So bummed would have been in the hardware 5th place but got a bogus overtaken penalty and had 2 min added to my time.

  • Comments: I love the fact that this is a series and you get to meet some of the same people from other areas who would not normally race in your destination. Weather did not cooperate with us today but the organizers really worked to make it safe for us.
