Swim
Comments: Swim was the most intimidating. I kept running into people and having others run into me. I was not used to the chop, so it took a while to get used to that. Once I was about 200 yards in though, I felt great. I was in a good rythem. The objective was to get out and do a tri (especially the swim portion). I did that, so now it's time to train to be comptetive. What would you do differently?: Navigate better. I bet I wasted a good 5 minutes of timing just on poor navigation. Transition 1
Comments: My transition was horrible. I was all flustered since it was my first race. I ended up almost throwing up about 3 times, but I made it through and got on the bike. What would you do differently?: Not drink until I'm on my bike moving. Bike
Comments: Course was great. I've never had such a great ride. There were two really intense hills (for me!), so that was fun. I was going from 32mph down to 5mph up on both! I need to train hills badly!!!! What would you do differently?: Drink and go faster. I was moving pretty well. But, I feel I could've pushed it harder. I was just trying to conserve to run. Transition 2
Comments: Took a drink, slowed me down. What would you do differently?: Run in the TA. I didn't run!! Run
Comments: Run went ok. The first mile was tough. My claves were cramping from the bike ride on the first mile or so. But, once I got my running legs back, I seemed ok. I would've liked to be under an 8 min mile though. What would you do differently?: Faster pace of course!!! Post race
Warm down: Walked around for about 30 min. Minimal stretching. Poor judgement! What limited your ability to perform faster: Psychological issues. I wanted to make sure I completed the race. I didn't want to pass out since it was my first. Now that I know I can complete it, I will begin to push significantly harder. Event comments: It was a great time! I'm addicted. Great racers. Even though it was my first time, everyone was willing to help when I asked "stupid" questions. Last updated: 2009-08-07 12:00 AM

I woke up around 3 hours before the race began. I was pretty anxious since it was my first race. I tried to eat something before I left, but it didn't work out. So, I ended up eating an energy bar and an apple about an hour before it began. Other than that, I just checked in, set up, went pee and warmed up.
Before the race I went down to the lake and swam around for about 5-10 minutes.
