Run
Comments: Had no choice but to go out a little fast, as I was being swept by the crowd. Loved it when we could see the elites heading back past us before we even hit mile 1. Took two short walk breaks (under 30 seconds) and really kicked it at the end. Meeting my husband at the end was priceless. He saw me and exclaimed "42 minutes! You beat your PR!" (My clock time was 42:38). The look on his face when told him, "um no, try 40 minutes!" was priceless. What would you do differently?: I wish I didn't have to take those two walk breaks. But given this level of improvement, I wouldn't change a thing! Post race
Warm down: Walked through the chutes trying to get water and some fruit. What limited your ability to perform faster: Crowd, I suppose, and overall fitness. Event comments: It's a large race, but well organized. Last updated: 2010-01-22 12:00 AM

Had my normal breakfast and a cup of coffee for the drive. Should have had a little more water, too. Got there early to try to meet up with friends.
Just trying to keep warm! Did a lot of hopping from one leg to the other. Walked to the start.
