Swim
Comments: I started right after a 2 min break so felt like I had an empty pool to swim in. NICE. What would you do differently?: Seed myself higher??? Transition 1
Comments: Pretty normal Transition for me. 20th fastest overall. That's right. Let's go back to 279. Since I swam after a 2 min break I obviously never caught him in the pool. BUT HE WAS STILL IN T1 WHEN I GOT THERE! So I changed, grabbed my bike, holla'd at olliedawg, and was out of there while he was still cleaning up his feet or something. JAGOFF!! What would you do differently?: NOTHING! If it were warmer, I wouldn't have wasted time throwing on a jacket. Bike
Comments: The wind made this ride miserable. The section of rollers felt great, I just attacked it, but when I hit the flat back into the Y the wind just sucked every bit of strength I had out of me. Ugh. What would you do differently?: I need to bike more. LOTS more. Transition 2
What would you do differently?: I need to get more smooth at dismounting. Struggled balancing and pulling socks on, just need to get rid of socks entirely I think. Run
Comments: This was a great run for me. The goal was 30 minutes and I almost hit it. Best 5k in a tri and it was EASY. What would you do differently?: Not much. Post race
Warm down: Change into sweats. Cheer some people through the finish. Eat barbecue and drink beers with olliedawg. What limited your ability to perform faster: BIKE BIKE BIKE Last updated: 2010-03-15 12:00 AM

Friday night I went out for Happy Hour, so Sat morning I rushed around to get ready. I'm super lucky I didn't forget anything, but I did break the sunglasses I wear when I ride/run, so ended up rocking my HUGE Paris Hilton glasses for the race. Picked up coffee on the way to Smithfield, set up transition, texted Tony, changed into my trisuit and I was ready to WAIT 2 hours to start...
Well, my friendly transition neighbor, bib number 279 with the child molester mustache, set up his little transition towel under his back wheel and ON TOP OF MY SHOES. Since he wasn't around, I slid the whole set up over so he wasn't in my space. He eventually came back while I was there talking to dalessit and had the nerve to slide his stuff back ON TOP OF MY SHOES. I thought to myself, am I going to have to choke a batch? So I asked him nicely to stop setting his stuff up on top of my transition, and I would be passing him in the pool. (I was 281).
