Pre-race routine:

My gosh...my wife wanted to go to the Casino on Friday night. I went it she didnt want to leave until 11.30pm!!! We go home and i had to get everything ready which took my until 1.30am! then i slept untill 4am and was off. CRAZY!!
Got there Early as i had to make sure they entered me as promised and got set up. Nothing to eat
Event warmup:

Nothing really. Was in Wave 20 so i watched alot of people go. They had wetsuit strippers so i scoped put the good ones.

8th out of 26. Normally i go round the outside but i tried to keep it tight this time. Hard to get around people but worth it. There is alot of wading in this triathlon as well. I love the wetsuit strippers.

I really worked hard at this. MY last triathlon was 1 2:48 T1. I know i need to speed it up. So i got Triathlon bike shoes the day before. I planed on no socks and left the shoes clipped on my pedals. I ran out of transistion and started riding with feet on top of my shoes. I need a bit of practice at this and get some bands to keep the shoes upright. But i won T1!! This was my goal for this whole Triathlon. No socks was absoultely fine in these shoes. Also...i kept my race number on under my wetsuit and kept my cycling shirt on too.
What would you do differently?:

Practice with my Triathlon shoes a bit. Race belt under wetusuit worked great!

Wow im surprised. It felt alot slower but i came in 6th! I am getting used to this hill now. When i got half way up i walked fast with big steps as i knew this was more efficent then my tiny little running steps that i was taking.
What would you do differently?:

Get better running shoes for no sock option. You sure to feel every thing in your shoe with no socks on.

Warm down:

They had great food this year, Spaeggti and bread sticks, Perkins cookies and Muffins. Free Beer.

Event comments:

This is a tough Triathlon. I wouldnt recomend it for begineers to be honest. I think the Sprint is harder than the Green Bay Olympic distance. I did the half Iron last year and it is brutal! It is one of the harder courses of the year. I really like it though.
