  • Comments: This is a tough Triathlon. I wouldnt recomend it for begineers to be honest. I think the Sprint is harder than the Green Bay Olympic distance. I did the half Iron last year and it is brutal! It is one of the harder courses of the year. I really like it though.

  • Comments: While I was bummed that I didn't do the HIM, I think it turned out to be the right decision. Overall the race was a positive experience and I have gotten a bit of a fire burning to race again. That is a good thing!

  • Comments: The lake was clean - no dead fish - and it seemed fairly clear. Quite shallow for 30-40 yards and it seemed too close to shore. It was very difficult to start 1 hour after transition closed. I liked the trail run. Maybe they should cut the # of participants so that there is a smaller transition area and all waves are off within 30 minutes of the first wave. The bike course was nice, but too long for a sprint distance. Volunteers were nice, participants were nice as well. Overall, a nice looking course.

  • Comments: Could not stomach spaghetti and meatballs at 930 am...so munched on fruit for post race. Very 'cramped' at end of race with food, fans, etc... Oh, and speaking of fans -- LOVED the fan club on the trails near campers! Kiddos giving high fives and 'way to go's' to us all! :)

  • Comments: Good: Venue and run course. Post race meal of pasta with bread sticks and fruit was better than most. Bad: Nobody was checking people on the way out of transition post race. Anyone could waltz in there and steal as many bikes as they want. No course maps--a print out in the goodie bags would have been appreciated.

  • Comments: I had a lot of energy at the end that I could have used in the race. I was surprised at how well conditioned I was for being out. All that crosstraining definately helps. Mental breakdown and physical breakdown with injury definately holding me back! Felt good to finish...didn't want the DNF...Only a minute off of last year's time..imagine if I had been healthy! Bummed I wasn't doing HIM, but happy for friends that finished theirs...I finished, not far off of last years time...did I mention I almost started bawling when I crossed the finish line...relief that i finished? Or pain? Not sure. Just glad I did..tough to feel happy for, but working toward it.

  • Comments: Not enough people out on the course. Apparently people missed turns, or were directed the wrong way, resulting in race director arbitrarily deducting 6:00 of time from people. They need to either mark the course a bit better, or get more people out there. At the same token, athletes need to take some responsibility for themselves.

  • Comments: overall pretty happy with my performance. Based on the course, my times were good for my current ability. (swim notwithstanding) Rank was pretty good. This was helped by the big boys/girls participating in the HIM.

  • Comments: Lots of volunteers, well organized, all intersections are controlled. I was supposed to be in the clydesdale division, instead I was put in my AG. Since I wouldn't have placed as a clyde I didn't bother correcting it, but here's how I would have ranked: Overall 9/28 Swim 15/28 T1 15/58 Bike 11/28 T2 19/28 Run 13/28 (run ranking looks alot better when compared to others who have something extra to haul up the hill)
