Swim
Comments: Coming into this race I was excited for the swim as my pool times per 500yds were getting better - 8.40 per set. Also I had the 1 hr 15 min 2.4 mile swim at IMAZ last November. I remember passing a big yellow buoy with 500 written on it. I thought I had 500 to go .... of course it meant I still had 1000 to go. Either expectations were out of whack or the course was a little long. Transition 1
Comments: Decided not to go with socks prior to the race. Took off with shoes already clipped in. Bike
Comments: Quite uneventful. Felt like I pushed reasonably hard but was a little under trained on the bike.It was fun coming back into town at 27 mph with the wind behind. My benchmark had been Clear Lake 2010 when I rode 22mph but was already logging more miles in trainineg then. What would you do differently?: Push harder Transition 2
Run
Comments: Ran in my Newton's for the first time in a race. Set out at 8 min pace and felt good up on my toes. I walked through the aid station for 10 sec just to try and get my heart rate down before taking off again. I did walk near the top of the bridge on both the out and back but kicked it in to the finish. My best triathlon 10k. Post race

Up at 4am. Ate a bagel with PB and rode my bike from the hotel in Seabrook/Clear Lake over the bridge to Kemah. This also served as my warm up.
