Swim
Comments: Average swim, slow and steady. I continue to find the long sleeve wetsuit very constricting, and couldn't swim fast in it. But I was able to draft behind a swimmer for ~1/3 of swim. After rounding the last buoy, there was a lot of glare and I couldn't sight easily. There was a little bit more chop too. 33:57 when I stood up, which is a very decent swim for me. There was a long walk in the shallow water to the timing mat, which explained the chip time of 36'. I probably could be ~1-2min faster if I swim harder and ran out of the water faster. But I'm very happy I was ~3min faster than last yr. My swim has definitely improved this yr. What would you do differently?: Swam harder and ran, instead of walk, out from the shallow water. Transition 1
Comments: Suit stuck to my heels, as usual. Bike
Comments: I hammered on the bike but only got 2nd AG. 1st AG 38" faster. ~5min faster than last yr. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Transition 2
Run
Comments: 1st AG on the run on a rather slow pace. ~half a min slower than last yr. Post race
Event comments: 7min faster than last yr. 2nd AG and a PB for Oly tri - 2:53:15. Might have clinched the Multisport Series Championship and also won the bike category (Trico bike case) for the Triple Race Challenge. Very happy. This is the coolest tri venue, lots of spectators, tons of atmosphere. Perfect weather, 2nd yr in a row. Last updated: 2011-08-26 12:00 AM

Muffin and coffee at McD enroute as usual. Got stuck for an hr on the 400. Called Susan to tell her to let John Salt, race director, know that there's an accident and many people got stuck on the highway. Told her to ask John to keep registration open.
Finally made it to race site ~20' before race start. A little stressed. Had to rush, pick up bib, set up transition, put on wetsuit....
Really happy to make it. Apparently, many people didn't make it to the race in time because of the accident on 400.
