Run
Comments: Very happy with my run, expecially since it was my first ever race over 5km. I thought i had done sufficient hill training, however I now know that Baysie hills pale in comparison to City to Surf ones! Still, i was incredibly happy that i ran 5km (including the first major hill) without slowing to a walk. My split times in that first 5km were higher than any I hit during training, yet i felt good! What would you do differently?: More hill training! Other than that, nothing, I felt great...apart from blisters on my right foot developing at the 7km mark, not too sure whay they came as I certainly didnt suffer from any during training. Post race
Warm down: Light stretching and sleep What limited your ability to perform faster: The hills haha. I'm a slow runner, so i'm very happy with the times i posted. Event comments: The post-event area was not well set-up, people could not easily access drinks. Organiser definatly need to re-think this layout. Last updated: 2011-08-28 12:00 AM

Three months of training as per the 12 week beginner 12km-run provided by Kinetic Health.
On the day I ate my regular bowl of muesli and a coffee, plus i grabbed a protein drink for the train ride into Perth.
Very little. The warm-ups were being done too early by the event organisers. So I have mostly just gentle muscle stretching
