  • Comments: This is a really fantastic race and as it's for charity I was really happy to even get a medal--things like Tshirts and post-race buffet aren't important. After driving home, there was a truly glorious sunset.

  • Comments: The post-event area was not well set-up, people could not easily access drinks. Organiser definatly need to re-think this layout.

  • Comments: Loved it - this was my first city to surf. It was well run, loads of volunteers, loads of people cheering - the view back from the top of St Georges Terrace was amazing, one long line of people! And the fact I was in the top 40% of a run is mind blowing for me!!! I couldn't even run 1km without taking a break this time last year, and now I've completed 2 triathlons, done the swim leg of a HIM and now done this. Roll on summer and tri season, all ending up at Busso hopefully for the HIM.

  • Comments: The organisation of the race was fantastic, getting 40000 people into the CBD and back home again is no mean feat. All public transport to and from the race was free, with lots of extra trains and there were free shuttle buses from the finish off the race back to the start. A huge number of buses had been laid on so didn't have to wait long even though the queue was enormous. Getting my bag back took ages but I was prepared for that and I don't really see how this can be done quicker, although there was a lot of unnecessary complaining about it. Most runners just mucked in and helped sort the bags while I saw others going around picking up litter while they were waiting or lending their mobile phones. Great event. Next year the half-marathon I hope.

  • Comments: Next year they are going to have a marathon! Perhaps I might give that a go, depending on if I have qualified for the World Long course champs or not. Or might give the 1/2 marathon a go. I really love this race, yes its a pain in the bum dodging and diving and avoiding people but its awesome to run up St Georges Tce make it to the top of that hill and turn around to see the mass off bobbing heads just a big sea of people!

  • Comments: I'll be back next year! This is a great local race on quite a challenging course where you get to run with HEAPS of people of differing abilities. It lets me see my achievements in a more objective way when I compare my fitness level to a much larger cross section of the population, not just elite super-fit triathletes *LOL*

  • Comments: I am really proud of this race, I'm not a runner and will never be a runner but 3 years ago I did the city to surf, that was my longest run ever and I ended up with a badly injured hamstring, I'd done probably 5k's training longest run at that time. I finished it in 1 hour 20mins and that just about killed me. Cut to the present, I ran this faster then I normally run but still within my ability, I mostly felt comfortable running and I also felt like I could have kept running, (as in it didn't feel like a long way, all the way there I was going right you've made it to subi you are so almost there not far to go now. normally I'm like oh my god this is such a long way I will never get there) I did have a few holy crap this is only 12k's no way you'll ever be able to run 42k's!
