Swim
Comments: no issues, just no great speed either What would you do differently?: Train more point-to-point lake swimming, esp in the 4 wks pre-race Transition 1
Comments: Booked it up the hill, but then sat to remove the wetsuit. What would you do differently?: use more body glide! Bike
What would you do differently?: Train more on the new bike, and new aerobars, esp in the 4 wks pre-race Transition 2
Comments: left T-area with cycling gloves still on and ditched them near another race for later retrieval. silly mistake! What would you do differently?: remove gloves and re-tighten the lack locks -- they felt too loose Run
Comments: got sore knees miles 5-8 but thankfully it passed and/or became manageable What would you do differently?: train for run speed and stamina, not just "wing it" Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: I took several vacations this summer, and not just all in the taper week: Tahoe in July, Norway in August, and Tulsa in early Sept. These and my work clients kept me too busy/irregular in my training. Next year: more focus and more race specific prep...then pray for today's great weather once again! Event comments: Great race org, just not my greatest race. Last updated: 2012-09-09 12:00 AM
