Swim
Comments: Started out a little fast. First 100 was 1:13. Second was 1:20. Haven't been swimming much since December. Time was 12 seconds slower than last year. What would you do differently?: Try to split more evenly. Push more at the end. Transition 1
Comments: Goggles off, helmet, sunglasses, and jacket on. Ran with bike. Shoes were clipped into pedals. Decent flying mount. Got feet in shoes before the uphill portion started. Wore the jacket due to cold temperature. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Bike
Comments: Better than last year, still have work to do. What would you do differently?: Hammered the legs in training with 5 intervals and one long ride in the last 11 days. Don't do that. Transition 2
Comments: Got feet out of shoes on the uphill before the turn into the H.S. pedaled with feet on top right up to timing mat (no dismount line). Ran with bike to bike rack. Ditched helmet and jacket. Put on shoes and ran to next mat. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Fastest overall T2. Run
Comments: Legs felt very heavy after hilly bike. Despite this, went out at 6:50 - aided by the downhill section. Surprisingly caught and passed SF on the downhill section. He caught back up on an uphill and we ran together on the flats. Decided I had to get separation before the final uphill and went with about 1/2 mile to go. He clawed some of it on the uphill, but I was able to finish 19 seconds ahead. What would you do differently?: Back to the heavy week of workouts. Haven't run a whole lot since the HM on May 5th. Post race
Warm down: Walked around. Drank gatorade. Went to pool when we got home and swam a couple hundred yards. What limited your ability to perform faster: Heavy week of training. Early season fitness. Event comments: Club had a strong presence and took home a lot of the AG medals. Last updated: 2013-05-16 12:00 AM

Set up transition. Changed in the locker room. Cheered for early heats.
Swam a few laps in the world's shallowest pool before heat was called.
