Pre-race routine:

Didn't have a powerbar, but ate a banana on the way to the race, and was sipping on Roctane Drink. Had 2 Roctane gels: 1 before and 1 in the middle.

Ran about 1.3 miles with Jeremy as we scoped out the twists and turns.

WET WET RUN! It wasn't super muddy, but it was really wet (we had a downpour for a bit on the way out to the race). Feet and shorts were soaked through.
What would you do differently?:

Not much. I pushed well where I needed to, and finished spent but not trashed.

It's hard to judge effort running on trails. I was working hard and was running out of oxygen, but I felt like I could have given more. I think I ran pretty good and just wasn't used to how trail running feels. I MAYBE could have pushed a little harder near the middle of this run, but I'm not sure...
