Pre-race routine:

Started Race Day Boost loading Wednesday, ran out Friday afternoon. Woke at 3:45. Aquaphored everything. Took 1 Alleve. Ate a banana and drank gatorade. Left Sister-in-law's house in Katy at 4:15, got to parking lot right in front of the Convention center at 5:02 am. Took 3 Anti-Fatigue Caps and 1 Enduralyte around 6am. Thick fog, 100% humidity when arrived. Went into Conv Center, took a dump. Went back out to car. Took another Alleve. Took 5-drops creatine about 25 minutes prior. Got in my trashbag then wlked to startline. Took powerbar gel with caffeine 15 minutes prior to start. Light stretching in corral, and peed in Gatorade bottle under trashbag in the corral. Was first race I ever seen portapotties in the corrals. Excellent idea, but lines were huge, so glad I had my own "outlet". Race start 7am.
Event warmup:

Light stretching in corral.

Comments:

Pretty much followed my HR plan to keep HR to 150 til 5m, 155 til 10m, 160 til 20m, then pick it up if I can. Even though weather was cool, I was sweating alot early so drank out of my gatorade bottle I carried a lot. Stopped at 3 gatorade stops to have it refilled. After the firs water stop, every water stop I grabbed a cup to pour over my head. Stopped at mile 16 for a couple quick pics with my wife & inlaws that came out to cheer me on. Walked up the overpass right after the 12 mile marker, and flew down the other side. Walked a couple little uphills in miles 20/21. Slight runner's knee pains, but a lot better than last 2 marathons. Took another powerbar eneregy gel with caffeine at m14 and m21. Took another Alleve at m10 and m 20. Finished a whole cliff shot block pack, dispersed throughout the race. Tooke probably 12 more enduralytes throughout the race.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, this is a PR for me. More conditioning to get my HR down is the only way I can possibly run any faster.
