Swim
Comments: Gender rank: 680/696. The next wave caught up with me just as I was approaching the swim exit ramp. Stayed to the side to keep out of their way. I was pretty sore and tired from the previous day's race. What would you do differently?: Swim faster. Transition 1
Comments: Overall: 1511/1673, Gender: 616/692, Age Group: 63/75 What would you do differently?: Go faster. Bike
Comments: I could tell my rear tire was going flat about 2/3 into the ride. I just kept going. I know it affected my speed, but I was also sore and tired from the previous day's race. What would you do differently?: Check my tires well in advance of transition closing! Transition 2
Comments: Nailed it! No blue room break. Overall: 1284/1673, Gender: 489/696, Age Group: 44/75. What would you do differently?: Go faster. Run
Comments: Ran the entire way, except for walking through aid stations. Tried to get Gatorade at every station, plus a water rinse. I was pretty sore and tired from the previous day's race. Mile 1: 11:50/5.1 mph Mile 2: 12:08/4.9 mph Mile 3: 12:24/4.8 mph Mile 3.15: 1:55/4.7 mph What would you do differently?: Run faster, although I think I did pretty well here. Post race
Warm down: Found the food tent and ate. Spent more money. What limited your ability to perform faster: Me. Used Mark Allen's advice and concentrated on each mile at a time during the run, not letting the previous or next mile affect me. Event comments: Great race! Had lots of fun. Would definitely do it again. Last updated: 2015-07-22 12:00 AM

Went down with Peter. Had a couple of bagels. Set up transition, checked my bags into the bag check tent. Discovered my rear tire was completely flat. Didn't have enough time to change it or have the bike mechanics change it, so borrowed a "real" pump. Visited the blue rooms a couple hundred times, waited with everyone else. Took 500mg Ibuprofen and a hydrocodone to help with the soreness from the previous day's race.
Got into the water as soon as the prior wave started and acclimated to Lake Michigan.
