Swim
Comments: Another horrible swim. Started off bad, and got worse. Couldn't get rhythm going. Had to float on my back a few times. Hyperventilated everytime I tried to put my face back in the water. Kayak came around to help as I was stuggling badly. Almost DNF, but made it back on shore, barely. What would you do differently?: Haven't figured out. Transition 1
Comments: Another bad transition. Totally exhausted after swim. Bike
Comments: OK bike, but totally exhausted after swim to have a good ride. Transition 2
Comments: Uneventful, which is good. Run
Comments: Not used to running on trail. Can't get rhythm going. Very hot by then. Exhausted from swim to have a good run. Walked quite a bit. Post race
Warm down: Hard to believe, but on my way back home, I remembered that I forgot to put sunscreen on my face! What limited your ability to perform faster: Couldn't get rhythm going in swim. Totally exhausted after bad swim, so can't get a good bike and run in. Event comments: VERY VERY TOUGH DAY for me. Another horrible swim, but I did hang in there and finish. In this respect, it's better than last year when I actually DNF on swim. Last in my age group, haven't been there ever! I keep telling myself DFL >>> DNF >>> DNS. 2 bad races back to back, it can only get better, I hope. Last updated: 2007-01-12 12:00 AM
