Pre-race routine:

Hydrated Friday & Saturday. A couple of Bananas & a Cliff bar sunday [didn't get much sleep]. Played some WoW after everything was packed. I had a lot of nervous energy.
Event warmup:

Did some fast paced walking looking for a temporarily misplaced kid [9 year old boys have a great way of disappearing while not actually being lost]. Other than that, just hung out and tried to keep cool. Thankfully the clouds rolled in but the dust storm didn't.
Swim
  • 18m 11s
  • 400 meters
  • 04m 33s / 100 meters
Comments:

This was the final leg [reverse tri]. The coolness of the water was nice, but the leg cramps were not. I kept stopping trying to get rid of them.
What would you do differently?:

Ignore the leg cramps [they never went away and the last 75m I didn't even kick] and just keep swimming.
Transition 1
  • 00m
Bike
  • 1h 01m 24s
  • 14.88 miles
  • 14.54 mile/hr
Comments:

It was a really enjoyable ride. The first mile was absolutely brutal after the run. I took off way too fast from transition, which didn't help. My time includes T1 because they didn't monitor transition times, but my transition was pretty fast [or at least it felt that way], so it probably didn't account for much.
What would you do differently?:

Have one bottle of water and one bottle of sports drink. I had 2 bottles of sports drink and got dehydrated.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Run
  • 35m 37s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 11m 29s  min/mile
Comments:

My running sucks. This is going to be my main focus for a bit. I did a lot of fast paced walking during this.
What would you do differently?:

Don't eat a GU halfway through. Ouch! And do more running workouts.
Post race
Warm down:

Curled up in fetal position on a recliner. Which Tanya quickly yanked me out of. So I walked out my leg cramps from the swim and drank water and gatorade.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Me

Event comments:

My only comment is that the jerk who didn't take the lost kid seriously is in need of a serious pummeling. What an arse! Thank God the Sheriff's department didn't treat us like dirt the same way that guy did [he may have been the race director, but I can't say for sure].
