  • Comments: Overall I'm extremely pleased with my performance given that it was 20 minutes faster than when I did this race for my first sprint. In each of the races that i've done i've improved in something which I'm proud of....I may still be in the BOP, but i'm happy with my progress that i've made in my first year of triathlons with no background history or experience in neither swimming, biking, or running. :)

  • Comments: The only problem I saw was that there were no more volunteers to give instructions to the last cyclists that came into transition. Myself and another person. Had to help out a few of the last women cyclists so they new where to go next. It is not good to abandon the transition areas prior to the last athlete coming in.

  • Comments: It was nice to have two water stations on the run course this year. The food available for after the race didn't have a lot of variety. Water, bananas, oranges and cookies. I was suprised they didn't have any electrolyte drink or anything with protein.

  • Comments: Since this is my first triathlon, I don't have too many reference points and since I wasn't all there about half way through the race I don't know that I made too many mental notes about the management of the race.

  • Comments: Since this is my first I am giving this an above average rating. I don't know if there are normally more water stations, but they could have used more people handing out the water. They ran out of water in the transition area before the race. I had fun overall. It would be nice to be listed in the overall times even if you are signed up as a clydesdale so you can see how you rate out.

  • Comments: Good race course. The reverse order and late afternoon start were also a nice change. Can't do much about the swim, maybe have even more waves next time. Just two complaints: the girls at the aid stations were way too slow and there were no porta potties. 134 women racers and guests had to share 2 toilets at the nearby tennis courts. Check out that funky bobble-head running girl trophy we got!

  • Comments: This race took a dive this year. We have always been able to use the community center bathrooms and locker rooms, AND they supplied 4 port a pottys out side. This year we were banned from the Center, and only had acess to the tennis court bathrooms. 2 stalls. Yeah.... Also, the 2 water stations on the run in 109 temps was not enough, and especially when the second one was manned by 3 clueless high school girls. And eventhough I have to believe the wave starts helped the mass conjestion in the pool, it was still conjested and I was STILL stuck with all the sucky guys who were walking, and hopping, and frog stroking, etc.. I was so done with it I just swam over them this year. Going to send the RD a note about this because the fastest guys start first and have no idiots to try to swim around in the pool. With the women starting last, we have all the sucky guys to swim around. It's not fair. They have got to come up with a better system. But even with all the issues the reverse

  • Comments: I'm giving this race an "Average" rating because of the annoying/@sshole coordinator and the terrible swim conditions. The run and bike were great though. I have noticed that the bike is the most important event of the 3. I ranked 134 overall in the bike, and guess what? I ranked 134 overall. I also ranked 12 in the bike in my AG, and got 12 in my AG overall. Although I thought I had done better than I actually did, I'm still happy. In May, I was last in my AG. In the Mountain Man, I was 3rd to last. I was 6th to last in this race. I'm improving! What's most important is that I'm having fun, have met some amazing people that I now call friends, and it's only been 6 months since I've started all this.

  • Comments: My only comment is that the jerk who didn't take the lost kid seriously is in need of a serious pummeling. What an arse! Thank God the Sheriff's department didn't treat us like dirt the same way that guy did [he may have been the race director, but I can't say for sure].

  • Comments: Good race for me. SOOOO happy a cloud bank came in and blocked the sun. It would have been absolutely brutal on the run if the sun were still beating down, so that saved us. It was still probably right around 100 though. 2nd in AG 9th woman overall out of 61 women

  • Comments: Couple of gripes. First, there were no timing chips - - it was a running clock. Luckliy, we started near the front. On the bike, they only had certain portions coned off and there was traffic on the course. At one point, you even have to go in front of cars to turn left. There was a policeman there on the 2nd loop. The swim was a clusterf**k. As this is my strongest leg, I need to make up some time in the pool. Tough to do with this up-and-back in every lane thing they had going on. Very congested.
