Swim
Comments: start was scary!! I was calm, but got thrashed around a bit. About 5 minutes in I got my goggles kicked off. About 1/2 way through the swim I noticed my little headache was almost unbearable. I HATE latex swim caps! I LOVE my spandex cap, grrrr. I took it off most of my hair and adjusted it quite a few times. Made it in my time goal so I was happy. What would you do differently?: more swim training, Transition 1
Bike
Comments: had headwind and tailwind. On the third loop the winds changed, making it harder coming back. I LOVED the bike!!! On the second loop, I was called for a penalty :( 4 minutes in the box. There was a man about the same pace as me, but a tad slower that I was going to pass, guess I took too long. It was so cool seeing Chris Lieto zip by me on the bike and all the other pros. I saw my parents and a few friends out there on the bike. Had about 200 cal/hr, which was perfect and during my penalty stop, I downed a few salt tablets. I passed people on the bike :D What would you do differently?: not much, I was expecting MUCH worse on the bike Transition 2
Comments: changed into my running skirt and was off! Run
Comments: I saw a few BT friends as soon as I took off, I remember seeing Paulette and Trixie ( so cool to finally meet you!!!). My legs would not "go" for the 1st 15-20 minutes or so, they hated me. They finally started loosening up and started running. I walked the hills and aid stations though. I talked to Becky ( Trigoddess) for a few miles as well as Eric (erroda). I saw my parents every loop as well as Josh, Jen, Ramein, Patrick, Kelly, and quite a few others. Most of the run, felt like a party!! The volunteers were so awesome! The 3rd loop was tough, I was hurtin, walked a lot of the beginning, but then started kickin it a bit. My 25 I was crying. I KNEW I was gonna finish, months of training and time, my dream was about to come true. My friend Kelly and my little bro helped me put on my wonder woman outfit and I ran through with all the energy I had left. What would you do differently?: nothing Post race
