  • Comments: Very well run race with Covid still lingering, didn't like how many people had friends/family running with them (pacing/helping), swim course a little confusing with different colored buoys and different sides to pass

  • Comments: Best Ironman triathlon to date! I credit my success to Elisa who has been invaluable supporting me as I trained for this race, Mark Allen with Mark Allen Coaching who helped me prepare my mind and body to have my best race ever, and all the friends who joined me in training and in spirit knowing how important this race was to me. :) 2015 time: 16:48:53 2017 time: 15:42:33 2019 time: 14:28:57

  • Comments: there may have been post race activities, but i got in too late to experience them. i looked for food which was limited at that time of night, plus even though i was starving, i wasn't really hungry. i needed to warm up, and pee. Tempe was a great city, it was too bad most restaurants were short sighted in not staying open past 10 on race night. Volunteers and Spectators were awesome. Running through the gauntlet near transition was something else, as well as the finish line. were there were hundereds of people still there.

  • Comments: I'm writing this report the day after, 100% recovered, no pain, very mild stiffness so I know a left a little too much on the table. But that's ok, it's a learning process. I am starving however. I think I shocked my body with the low calories.

  • Comments: I have to say, WTC really puts on a quality event. Everything is well run and organized. The volunteers were super helpful and the residents of Tempe came out in big numbers even in horrible weather conditions. I thanked as many of them as I could along the way. Without them, this race would not be the same. Cannot wait to come back in 2016

  • Comments: I feel super happy to have completed my first Ironman triathlon and would like to race again in better conditions if possible to exercise my true physical performance abilities. A big thank you to the triathlete who gave me a spare inner tube, volunteers, and training buddies who helped me get to this race and finish it! Thank you Ironmen Mike and Lisa Miller for being great hosts in Arizona.

  • Comments: I had an amazing race experience. Yes I finished over an hour slower than my goal race time, but I also finished way higher overall than if I had hit my time in conditions from the previous year. I paced well and possibly could have pushed a bit harder, but I also felt great afterwards other that being really cold. I should have brought a sweatshirt to the hotel, but didn't and that is my biggest complaint. The RWB team showed up big on this and it was another motivating factor throughout the day On another note, I should have paused for more pictures with my wife and kids during the race. They showed up from start to finish. For a 3.5 year old and a 7 year old to endure a VERY full day with Erin as the Sherpa was nothing short of a miracle. It took me nearly a month to get around to writing this, with many other things in life going on. I can only say I am BLESSED beyond comprehension and am excited to do another!

  • Comments: Thank you to the volunteers for helping us through this very long day. Thank you to my wife and kids for putting up with all of the training and racing. Thank you to my coach, Steve Johnson, Darkhorse Triathlon, for having me ready to race all season long and dealing with my crazy schedule.

  • Comments: Race recap: First and foremost, THANKS to all the 3,000 volunteers!!! IMAZ does an amazing job with the athletes. From the check-in on Friday to the Finish on Sunday they take great care to ensure all the athletes have a positive experience. Examples for those who have never done a Full Ironman: At the swim finish they had folks helping pull you out of the water, up the stairs and wetsuit rippers to peel you out your wetsuit in record time. Then once you have your Bike Gear Bag another volunteer helps you clean your feet, make sure you don't forget you helmet, socks and they take your wetsuit and put into your gear bag for later pick-up. Exiting the transition there are numerous volunteers to put on bullfrog sunblock (super important). During the ride I never even came close to running low in nutrients, they passed out energy drinks, GU's, bananas, oranges, water, Vaseline, any thing you could think of. They had several assistance vehicles to aide with flats. At the Bike to Run transition

  • Comments: This was IMAZ!! Best and hardest race I have ever done! Having signed up one year earlier having never done a triathlon, I had no idea what to expect, and the year brought some of the best and worst experiences of my life. I am elated I was able to finish this race and do so without any real issues along the way. During the year, I overcame anxiety in open water and learned to swim, and overall greatly improved my physical ability and endurance. However, exactly one month before IM, at the height of training, my step-son Doug passed away unexpectedly. It was a blow we were not expecting, and after learning of his death, Mike and I were not sure we would continue our IM journey. However, Doug supported our effort and his last text told Mike he knew Mike would finish because Mike did not quit. Within the last year and a half, I also lost two friends who were younger than me (40 and 42). Losing so many in your life in such a short time really makes you appreciate the days we are given,

  • Comments: As always, racing is so much more meaningful to me when shared with friends. There was a LOT of love out on the course with 20 of us from MI racing, my host and hostess (and kona krush) Marie and Eric,Not to mention Coach Rich from Endurance Nation at mile 18. All my ATCK friends families and Fraser families cheered like crazy for me and that meant the world on the run and bike! All my friends following along at home...well, I got all the love they sent. Dave even had the neighbors over to watch my finish on the big screen! LOVED! Thats what I am! There is something about IM...Part of me hates the commercial jazz that IM is, but there is this other part of doing something with your body and pushing your limits that just can not be replicated...IM gives you the challenge and thousands of friends to share the day with. This year I was fortunate to race with five first time racers and to feed off their excitement and share my limited knowledge of the IM distance race. It was a great

  • Comments: Volunteers and crowd support were fantastic. Run course made me want to kill myself at times ... as did the bike. If I had ridden outside more, maybe I wouldn't have had as many issues. I dunno. Overall, I'd do it again. When I can afford it.

  • Comments: As much crap as WTC gets, this race is top notch. Between the insane amount of awesome volunteers, great courses, perfect weather, and one of the few true mass starts left in the country, I thought the race was great. Tempe is such a cool town and has a great vibe. I'd do this race again. My wife was amazing through the entire process over the past year. So were my parents. I'm glad I got to share the experiemce with the.

  • Comments: If an Ironman is on your to do list. IMAZ is a must. Volunteer the year before and sign up on site as it sells out in seconds after going on line later in the day.

  • Comments: What can be said other than IMAZ was one of the most physically and mentally challenging things I have ever put myself through. When I first got into the sport of triathlon and completed my first Sprint event, I never thought that an Ironman would be in my future. NEVER!! Now I can call myself an Ironman and I'm frickn proud of it!!!!! The host city stepped up. If anyone asks me how it was I tell people it was awesome. Hard, but awesome. My coach, Ben Cagle, used me as a guinea pig in his first year of coaching. I was happy to let him test out his theories on me since this was my first attempt at Ironman as well. We came together with a good plan and he helped me reach my goal (tattoo anyone??). Without Ben's thoughts and analysis, I might not be looking at this good of a finish, or even a finish at all. Thanks Ben! On Monday after IMAZ I was sure I was never going to even consider another IM again. The amount of time required to effectively train, along with the
