Pre-race routine:

Drove to work to pick up my swimming goggles, since I had not planned to race when I left on Friday.
Power Bar to start the day. Ensure vanilla about 90 minutes before the start. Hammer gel about 30 minutes before the start.
For some reason I was in the bathrooms about five times before the start. No issues, just getting rid of water I was retaining this past week.
Saw a couple of co-workers, one of whom was racing, and the other was there to support his wife and one of his sons, who were both racing.

I had the pleasure of meeting Sal/sparco while waiting for the start of the swim - what a great person, and a pleasure to finally meet him.
What would you do differently?:

Improve my breast stroke technique to shave off more time.
Get more comfortable with my freestyle technique to use that stroke, as well.

Muck, muck, muck... about 8 inches of the stuff to run through to get out of the water.
USAT gave Turtleman an exemption to allow bike riding in/out of T1 because the hill at the exit. I didn't clip in to my pedals until I was a good 1/4 mile out, but that was just fine with me.

I let myself ride for a good 30 minutes before I had some Hammer gel. I drank Amino Vital about every 10 minutes. My fluid and nutrition intake on the ride worked extremely well. With approximately 4 miles to go, I took my second gulp of Hammer gel to make sure it was flowing into my system by the time I was on the run.
What would you do differently?:

My speed was very satisfying. I still need to work on my hill technique, but I was pleased with my ride results.

This was my second run using the Galloway Method and I am incredibly pleased with the results. I was not completely spent when I crossed the finish line. One nice thing about having "46" on my calf, and being passed is that many of the "young pups" are incredibly supportive of the "old lady", which is incredibly sweet.
What would you do differently?:

Continue to work on using the Galloway Method as it appears to be an excellent approach for me... at least for the short- medium-term.
Post race
Warm down:

I definitely needed to walk around when I finished the race because my quads threatened to cramp up on me.
I made sure that I drank a bottle of Amino Vital at the end to get some more good stuff flowing into my body.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Definitely my weight... this was my last tri of the season. If I can reduce my lean body mass to 75-80%, then I will have much more speed.

Event comments:

I will "Be The Turtle", again, next year.
