  • Comments: First time at Turtleman. I would do it again. Swim venue has almost always had issues from what I heard but at least this year the swim went from 1.5K to 1K so more in line with bike/run distances.

  • Comments: Nice well organized race w/ lots of volunteers and people from the town out to support the athletes. Swim is the only downside to the race, and, that wasn't too bad.

  • Comments: I thought the RD did a fine job given the hand he was dealt with the weather. The volunteers also did a great job especially considering the weather conditions.

  • Comments: This is a good race. The director has the safety of everyone in mind, and that was clearly demonstrated. I just wish mother nature had cooperated.

  • Comments: Great race. One of my favorites. I actually 'raced' this year rather than just trying to finish. Nice 'small' venue. A good opportunity to just hang around and visit with folks. Very relaxing race.

  • Comments: The packet pickup on thursday made me nervous as it was a bit unorganized, but I thought the race itself was wonderful. The bodymarking, chip pickup, process was great. Lots of food after the race, etc. I have no complaints.

  • Comments: This is one of the best-run races around, and this was the fourth time I've competed. I really like the venue, the course, and the competition, so I'll keep coming back. A big thanks to the volunteers!

  • Comments: Well run race... they held transition closed till the last rider was in, but then immediately started taking down the fences, so little to no security for the gear. Didn't hear of any issues. Will definitely be back!

  • Comments: Good race.. was a nice prelude to IM Moo... i like this race .. cause its so flat.. and just seems easier for some reason.. its also only 10 minutes from my house.. so no complaints in commuting to this one.. Got a nice jacket this year for the 25th Annv. but not medal this time.. sortah strange cause last two years I have had nice medals.. but not this year.. hmmmm.

  • Comments: No one is more surprised than me at my finish time. I expected to come in around 3-3.5 hours. The bike and run were actually shorter than a 50k and 10k, so that might be part of it. Still, it was a great race. My friend Jay came along as race support which helped motivate me to get in the water. I always want to chicken out when standing in line to go in. The swim always looks so daunting. This race should hopefully help me realize that I can actually swim the distance and not panic.

  • Comments: I really like this race.. its flat.. well organized ... I didn't like the lake this year.. seaweed was terrible... They sortah messed up the national anthem.. so I was a bit surprised.. could have been more organized in that regard I suppose.. This year...i just wasnt as pysched or trained as well.. if I had shaved off the 4-5 minutes i burned in the t-zone it might have been more comparable.. 9 minutes slower because of the run and the BR break most likely.. Swim: 436, Bike: 332, Run: 434 Triathlon - Long Course Total Time = 2h 41m 51s 2006: 2:32:08 Overall Rank = 432/750 2006: 403/750 Age Group = M35-39 2006: Same Age Group Rank = 61/83 2006: 76/107 Swim: 34:55 (2006 - 33:20) T1: 2:42 (2006 - 2:39) Bike: 1:04:26 (2006- 1:04:14) - pretty much the same T2: 4:21 (2006- 1:46) - HUGE DIFFERENCE Run: 55:28 (2006 - 50:11) - HUGE DIFFERENCE.. so t2 and run.. next year I can show a 2 yr trend.. doH!!

  • Comments: I'm having troubles with comparing this race to Heart of the Lakes. I really loved everything about that race. This one just seemed to come up a bit short. Maybe it had more to do with the weather. Although the swim was a complete downer. But it was my first Oly and I guess I have to be happy that I finished under my goal time. Not sure I would do this one again next year.

  • Comments: This race is extraordinally well run. It was the 24th edition of this race and they've got it running smooth as a top. It'd be nice if they could make the bike a full 40K but that's only a minor deal. I'd highly recommend this race to anyone.

  • Comments: nice "down to earth" experience for a runner, who thinking that by adding a little biking and swimming cross training to his running training would make him a top triathlete. There is more that goes into this event than just showing up. I left the event excited that there is alot of upside potential for me on the table.

  • Comments: I really liked this race... mostly because of its ease.. the roads were pretty much flat , the weather was cool... made for a less intensive battle and more of a enjoyable race... I would do this one in a heartbeat again. I think quite a few competitors did this.. as my ranking is usually higher.. I am in the bottom 3/4 for the age group.. which is unusual for me... even with my better then average times... doh!

  • Comments: I set a 3:05 for my goal. Since this was my first event, I did not know what to expect or how it would go. Need to walk harder in training and push myself. But overall, I am pretty damn proud - I did it!
