Run
Comments: Started out way too fast, but hard not to. After the road ended, sort of found a pace and pushed through. The last part of the run, there is a 100' rediculously steep hill that knocks me out every time. Overall pleased with the pace considering the course and the conditions. What would you do differently?: Different shoes. I tried to run it in my Zoots and that was a bad call... even though the course looked dry and hard, after 400+ people ran through, there wasn't much doubt that it would be pretty soft. Next year, different shoes! Also, slow down, let people pass, I will reel them back in after the first mile! Transition 1
Comments: Pushed straight through transition. The Zoots are awesome for transition!!! Glasses were on, helmet on, shoes and run out. Had a bit of a rough time clicking in to the zeros for some reason, that was a completely new thing... MUCH better than last year What would you do differently?: Learn to leave the shoes on the bike, drop the running shoes and run out... the time to get into the shoes would have been no different than me getting into the pedals. Bike
Comments: Still dialing in my bike... well my seat... only about 250 miles on it, and I think I am going move it forward another 5mm... Seems to be "sitting" well for me! Still loving the climbs and pass most on the climbs, then settle into a nice easy pace on downhills and flats! Not sure if that is the most efficient. What would you do differently?: I was pleased with my pace, I was holding back in "fear" of the final run. Nothing like a run/bike/run for someone who really doesn't like running??? I also needed more water on this one and possibly a "snack"... I know... 17 miles... but hey Transition 2
Comments: Again, MUCH better than last year! What would you do differently?: out of shoes before dismount line... need to practice! Run
Comments: Out too fast and soft parts killed me... Was hurting by end of run as you can tell by the times! What would you do differently?: SLOW down out of transition!!! Post race
Warm down: Stretch, walk, stretch, walk, eat, drink, drink, drink, stretch... wait, see if I won any of the raffles, didn't, dring, walk! What limited your ability to perform faster: Training... Last updated: 2008-01-31 12:00 AM
