Swim
Comments: Pretty physical group of gals--lots of elbows, kicking, grabbing, swimming over-under-into-around....but it was fun! Seemed farther than 1/3 mile, but the swims always feel farther to me! What would you do differently?: Felt good about swim. Transition 1
Comments: Took the top of the wetsuit off in the water, which really helped, and the water left in the suit helped with the bottom half coming off quickly. Spent too much time fiddling with the Garmin, which eventually had the battery die since I didn't turn off before putting it in my bag last night. Hadn't reset it or anything.....ugh. What would you do differently?: Either leave the Garmin behind and just run with it or not use it at all. Bike
Comments: It took me a while to get my legs moving, and since my cold moved to my lungs I was having some issues with that most of the race. I didn't go too fast up the hills, but did fly down, which is my specialty. It was pretty crowded in some spots, and the road was open to traffic, so it provided a bit of challenge, but overall it was excellent!! I love this bike course (actually the whole triathlon was awesome). What would you do differently?: Go faster! Transition 2
Comments: Not bad, spent a few extra seconds using some bodyglide on potential trouble spots, which I was happy for later! Also put a bunch under my nails to use for sport bra chafing later on while I was running. Run
Comments: I dumped water on my head at the turn around and that was awesome to keep me cool. I was glad to have the Garmin to watch my speed--first mile was around 8.15 as was the last one. Slowed a bit in between but tried to keep my speed and cadence going. I like the out and back bike/run, as you can see all your friends many times throughout the race. Very friendly crowd. What would you do differently?: Wear a hat or visor, it was pretty hot! Considering my lungs were congested, my run time rocks!! Post race
Warm down: Cheered on Michele, Lynne, and Karen. Talked to some other BTers who had finished, ate a ton of watermelon. Eventually Lynne and I went back into the water and swam, which was fun and amazing! We laughed that we never just get in the water for the heck of it! What limited your ability to perform faster: Chest cold!!! Weight on the hills for the bike.....as always. Event comments: THIS RACE WAS AWESOME!!! The course was fun, it was well-organized, the weather was great, people were nice. Really can't find anything wrong, except the buoys were too small for the sun factor. I will most definitely be back again next year! PIX in my album titled Clear Lake Triathlon 2008 Last updated: 2008-07-02 12:00 AM

Walked around and talked with other racers and BTers. Took a bunch of photos, waited for the bathroom. Stretched a little bit...not much.
Got in the water for a few minutes.
**I will update the RR with my ranking once it is publicly available, and will also add photos!**
