Swim
Comments: Was so nervous about the swim that I sort of couldn't breathe.. So, I couldn't put my head down and really swim like I wanted to... I'm waiting to find out what all my splits were .. but i know swim took at least 3 minutes longer than it should have... ladders were crowded and run from swim to transition area was long What would you do differently?: Calm down. Slow down until you are comfortable. Transition 1
Comments: T1 would have been GREAT!... but.. my unexpected problem happened here.. my bike number sort of fell off so i had to spend a minute untangling the wire from my tire before i could run... cost me a minute.. What would you do differently?: be sure before race that my computer is reset. be sure before race that numbers are secure. be sure before race that bike shoes are unbuckled. sigh. Bike
Comments: The bike rocked! I felt awesome. This is where I shined at the race.. There is definately room for improvement but... I averaged about 18mph.. I passed a lot of people... it was smooth. Only problem was the dismount.. What would you do differently?: More practice on a running dismount for t2 Transition 2
Comments: Shoes changed fast. H2o bottles with propel still frozen ... problem.. No gatorade or anything on course just warm water... should have not frozen my propel What would you do differently?: Don't freeze propel... take time racking bike right first time. Run
Comments: The run. flat out. SUCKED! I KNOW i can do better than this. I know I can. I was way dehydrated.. really needed some electrolytes and was looking for some on the course(there weren't any??) What would you do differently?: Bring my own gu. don't freeze h2o... Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: More training! problems with bike number... problems with hydration... Event comments: The problems mostly had to do with Hurricane Hanna... The other problems were .. there was supposed to be gatorade and energy gels.. and there werent'. It took a long time to post results. NO massage. Race delayed due to stolen bouy's... Ladders slowed down exit from lake... Hard to find potty's.. hard to find a way to exit.. and some of the pavement on bike was really horrible. But.. it was a good event.. and most of the problems really were hurricane related.. I had fun. I'm glad I went. I want to race more. Last updated: 2008-08-26 12:00 AM

Didn't sleep hardly at all. Had a mini whole wheat bagel with peanutbutter and half a banana. Hydration was good.
Walked through all my transitions... 10 minutes stretching 5 minutes run/walk 10 minutes swimming
