Swim
Comments: I started toward the back close to the buoys and enjoyed the cleanest open water swim ever. Of course it is always clearer water when you're behind most everyone, but the water was perfect and I was able to just relax and use as little energy as possible on the swim. Transition 1
Bike
Comments: My plan for the bike was to focus on my nutriton and keep the pace slow enough on the first two loops that I could keep a good pace on the third loop. I ended up going 2:07 on lap one, 2:14 on lap two, and 2:12 on lap three. Transition 2
Run
Comments: I had been doing more running than anything else leading up to this race so I thought I'd have a faster time, but my only goal on the run was to keep moving forward so I felt fine with the result. My lap times were 1:50, 1:55, and 1:53. It feels good to be an Ironman again! Post race

This was a redemption race for me after not finishing the run in both 2006 and 2008 on this course. After Aprils race I knew I had to come back and finish this thing. So the day I got home I signed up for a Community Fund spot and reset the goal for November. In preperation for this race I relied on my previous Ironman finish in Florida and my two DNF at Arizona as well as the advise from anyone who was willing to give it. In the end the biggest help was the cooler weather and perfect race day. I guess third times the charm!
