Swim
Comments: I felt good on the swim. No panic. Consistent pace. Stayed on course. Good finish swimming up until my hands can grab the bottom. Easy and fast out of the water What would you do differently?: I'm happy Transition 1
Comments: Like the wetsuit strippers! Bike
Comments: This is where I need to improve! I really wanted to average 17.5 mph pace and I just couldn't do it. Beautiful course! This was my fourth time riding the course, so I felt like I knew it well. Thank you race god's for no flats/accients/technical problems! I really did not improve my time over last year, which stinks concidering I trained this year! Last year I was a brand spanking new cyclist and I only got a four minute improvement time. What is going on here? anybody? This year I kept my cadance around 90 (not including hills) which I think helped me improve my run time. Last year I didn't even know about cadence. What would you do differently?: train more????? how do I improve? need help here! Transition 2
Comments: good for me! Run
Comments: it felt consistent. The second loop was mind over matter! I'm happy with my time! I improved 15 minutes over last year's effort :-) What would you do differently?: I was beginning to bonk toward the end. I was having trouble getting food in. My heart rate felt too high for too long, and liquids were just sloshing in my stomach. With as hard as I was trying to go on the bike, I still felt good for the majority of the run, but I know I needed to eat more on both. Post race
Warm down: walked and ate a huge plate of food right away. Wasn't the food great!!!! What limited your ability to perform faster: not enough fuel. Heart rate too high. Improve bike performance. Event comments: Thank you to voluteers and support! Just a great race! Last updated: 2009-02-24 12:00 AM

T1 packed up, bike tires pumped and T2 set up the night before.
Woke up at 4:30 excited! got dressed and car packed up, ate oatmeal with walnuts and dried cranberries. Drove to T1 at 6:15, right on time. Got to T1 with plenty of time to set up, use restroom, get body marked. Ran for 10 minutes to warm-up before swim start. Got on wetsuit, cap and goggles. Posed for a few pictures, then got into the water. Great temp!
