  • Comments: My decision to participate in Barb's Race was more of a "bucket list" thing. I wanted to see if I could do one. Now I'm trying to decide whether or not to do more ;-)

  • Comments: I enjoyed this race. Great volunteers, racers, course and vibe. Pre race events took too long. Required pre-race meeting let out before registration was open. What could have been a 30 to 40 minute process took 2 hours.

  • Comments: I did this race to raise money for a very dear friend whom I lost in April. I am thankful to have raised $1,200 in her name and was honored to race for her. Seeing all the other women out there doing what I was doing made me very proud to be there.

  • Comments: I am so glad that I was able to drop down to the HIM from the full distance. Training this year has been very difficult, between work schedule and just overall burn-out from racing 3 fulls in 2010. I train and race for the love of the sport, to spend time with amazing friends and to take advantage of the having the ability to swim/bike/run. Barb's was far from a PR for me, but it did something for me beyond adding another finisher's medal to my collection....it brought a smile to my face and the joy back for me!

  • Comments: This is a well-run race with a very positive and encouraging atmosphere. I would recommend it to female 70.3 newbies as well as veterans. It was my 6th, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Good times with my club as well - I had a ton of fun with the CCTC crew!!

  • Comments: Good race and pretty well organized. I thought they could have used more porta potties on the course though. This felt very much like a local race. It was hard to belive that an Ironman was going on at the same time. I could definitely see the difference between M-Dot and non-MDot races. This is a non M-Dot, and it had a very different vibe. I could see it as a good race for those that have done more than one M-Dot and want something different. But I'm glad I'm doing an M-Dot for my first IM (IMAZ 2007). It's kind of like a big formal wedding vs. a smaller wedding. You only have your first IM once, and I want the big to-do. Kinda funny as I had a small wedding. Come to think of it, I'll spend more on my IM than I did on my wedding! There's just something about the atmosphere and the vibe. And I want more than one porta potty available at each aid station. Closing credits Thanks to: - My husband Zac. For running with me on the first parts of my training runs, bringing me water on
