Swim
Comments: Starting the swim thinking are their sharks out here in the bay? For some reason my time did not register. With transition and the swim I was at 11:10 when I got on the bike. Not my fastest swim, which was a theme for the weekend. No sharks though! What would you do differently?: Not get cut. If you do this race make sure you swim off the dock, not on the side, during warm-up. Swim faster. Transition 1
Comments: Wetsuit strip was a bit slow, but overall not bad. Bike
Comments: The blood on my aero bars and water bottles was a bit disconcerting, but it made me feel like I was really racing hard. It helped with the whole toughness factor. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Transition 2
Comments: Ran past rack space, but overall it went smooth. Run
Comments: A bit slower than I would have liked, but not terrible. What would you do differently?: Relax a bit more. I think I would have gone faster. Post race
Warm down: Hit the medical tent to deal with the cuts. They did a great job. They put crazy glue stuff on my heel and hand, which worked great. Everything is healing nicely. Last updated: 2009-03-24 12:00 AM

Had a big dinner the night before and a cookies and creme pop tart the morning of the race.
Ran a couple of miles and swam a bit for the warm up. I wound up cutting my heel, two toes and my hand on the oyster beds. Tried to stop the bleeding before the swim start, with no luck.
