  • Comments: It's a good race. They did a good job of adapting with eliminating the swim and doing a time trial start to the bike. It went well.

  • Comments: Seemed like a great race overall, but I have a big problem with the swim start. We were all to walk down a narrow (3 feet wide) wooden dock with boat slips on both sides and everyone was to jump in at the end and swim about 25 feet to the start line. Aside from the snafu on my part of not double checking my wave and cap color - there were still dozens of people standing on the dock blocking my way to the water. Why did they blow the horn? It's not the fault of the people in the back that the people in front won't get their asses in the water. Why wasn't there someone in charge at the end of the dock pushing the slow pokes into the drink? I will take some of the responsibility because I know it is up to me to control the outcome of my race, but this was also my very first race and I was already a little confused about how it was all going to go. I'm pretty sure they held off on the start horn just to make it seem less screwed up - but based on the "countdown" he was giving us (1 min / 30

  • Comments: * I placed 3rd in the Clydesdale 40+ division! Despite my terrible performance I actually got a plaque! LOL * :-) I thought this was a pretty good race. The SWAG was ok, nothing different than what you normally get. I saw someone gripe about last years, but having done it now, I think it's fine. At the end of the day I don't do well in the heat and will have to rethink doing races in September.

  • Comments: Like the course, hate the crosswinds, but that's just the island. Post-race food was a bit meager compared to others I've been to. I really liked the results table where you could get your time. Much better than crowding around something posted. I'll definitely be doing this again!

  • Comments: Great race in a great location. It's been a few years since I have done this race, but it was great to be back. Plan to do it again. Swag used to be better before it became official 70.3 event.

  • Comments: I was happy with the race. It seemed better organized then last year. I particularly liked the speed of the packet pickup and the station to get your race results. Lines went fast.

  • Comments: The Check In/Package Pickup on Friday was a mess. Very disorganized, waited in line for over 25mins, only 1 volunteer to check-off our name before lining again to the Sprint Check-In section.

  • Comments: Overall I really tried to race to my plan, and I think I did that. Even if my plan was pathetically inexperienced (which it undoubtedly was), it was mine and that's what I stuck to doing. Except the sleeping part. I'll have to try that next time.

  • Comments: Everyone was great during the race; the volunteers, the crowd, and the other athletes. I felt like I belonged and had a great time. I wish the expo on Saturday would have been a little bigger with more sponsors showing off the goods.

  • Comments: Awesome race, all things considered. I was REALLY disappointed about the swim being canceled. It was a safety measure though and you can't fault them for that. I'm sure there were some people who would have been in deep trouble in those waters. fun party atmosphere afterward. Really well run and organized. Planning on doing it again next year!!!! Can't wait.

  • Comments: Since it was my first race, I was incredibly bummed about the swim cancellation, even though I was not looking forward to the swim, I still wanted the challenge. I knew I would be hooked before I started, and this just further solidified that I will soon be a junkie.

  • Comments: On time other than weather delay. Keith should be commended for recognizing the danger to the newbies and canceling the swim. If the race had kicked off at 6:30AM and the weather changed while the start was in progress, it would have been butt ugly.
