Run
Comments: Goal coming in was sub 7:00 miles. new from MTN goat I could do it. started out around 6:55 or so. I am still amazed at the amount of people that either do not know, or just flat out lie at seed times on race entries. I was passing people like crazy up until mile 6 or so. these people were doing 9:00 min miles. in the end, I have no problem and it is actually a mental edge for me, it just leaves me wondering why people do that.... other than the bobing and weaving, a great run for me. I need to have more confidence in my endurance, as I left some out there. Never would of thought I could hold 6:46 fo 15k. never. didnt enter hell until about mile 9. funny part about this race is around mile 6-7 I saw the girl I finished MTN goat with. her an dI pushed each other at the Goat, and here we were among 10,000 people doing it again. We ushed each other again, and we both were doing 6:20s the last few miles. Another great aspect of running. Running is not my strong suite, but a great race. Something like this really humbles you. I put up a good time, yet 605 overall. When I see that I think about a lot of things, but mainly I think how much more I can improve? Top 500? 400? 300? What would you do differently?: Seed myself higher up. not too much, as passing people is better mentally that getting passed. but I lost between 20-30 seconds easy in the frist 2 miles as a result of seeding myself too far back. Post race
Warm down: massage, drank beer, ate lunch. typical post race stuff. What limited your ability to perform faster: not much at all. Event comments: cannot get better than this. anywhere. race is awesome and post race party is the best you will see anywhere in the country. I'll post some pics, but if you are a runner, you have to do this race. it's a must. i'll be back year after year.... Last updated: 2009-03-31 12:00 AM
