  • Comments: This year it gets a 4, because they ran out of everything both at the expo and at the post-race party. I was pissed off that people were running away with cases of food early so that others got none. Runners are the most greedy cheapskate people there are and the race directors should know this and prepare for it. They also built an addition to the Saranac brewery during this past year, so there is now much less space at the post-race party. I don't think this race can grow anymore because of this, and it should probably be reduced back to 10,000 max.

  • Comments: Next year my HS friend and I are talking about going to go head to head as I put up the friendly challenge, of course with her being so competitive it was a no delay "your on" so lets see where it goes! She did a 63 min run back in her mid 20's on this course and ran with her husband this year.

  • Comments: The only reason I don't give this race a rating of 5 is because they ran out of race goody bags and they ran out of lunches for the racers. We simply waited too long to go and get these things by walking to our car first. The race is a lot of fun, though. I'd do it again for sure, and just be sure I go straight to the lines to get the lunch and bag first.

  • Comments: For me, this was a glorified training run with 10,000 friends. I had a great time, would run again. A+ For those who haven't done this race, you really have to do it! There are something like 27 water stations and 30 musical acts, from garage bands to DJ's to belly dancers! The post race activities are first rate, and there's free beer. Need I say more?

  • Comments: cannot get better than this. anywhere. race is awesome and post race party is the best you will see anywhere in the country. I'll post some pics, but if you are a runner, you have to do this race. it's a must. i'll be back year after year....

  • Comments: Awesome race, lots of aid stations and voluteers, the spectators on the side definitely help you keep going at a good pace. And the after party was the best one that I have ever been too. Definitely recommend that anyone thinking about doing this race does it!

  • Comments: This is a great 15K and it should serve as an example to every other running race out there. Everything is organized perfectly, the amenities are great, and the cost is very low for what you get. I love this race.

  • Comments: Seriously, this is a race that everyone has to do once. It’s the best run, best organized, best post race party anywhere. The whole city comes out for the race, all 9.3 miles are lined with people.

  • Comments: This race is something to see - there are just SOOOO many people running. 11,000 for the 15k and 5,000 for the 5k. There are over 6,000 volunteers and fans line the entire course, encouraging you on. There were tons of bands and dj's, and 26 water stations along the way. It is a big race! I found it to be well organized, and there is a heck of a post race party afterwards - free beer for everyone! There also were a ton of goodies to get, and a plethora of free food. I feel my race registration fee was put to good use!

  • Comments: These people have put this race on for 30 years, they have it figured out. It is probably one of the biggest events in Utica so the whole town rally's around it. They had a huge party afterward at the old Utica Club brewery, where they now make Saranac beers. So the beer was free. Unfortunately for me, I passed. They also had Nik and the Nice Guys playing with jumbotron screens showing the awards and the band. I don't know if they added water stations because of the projected temps or if they always have this many, but there were almost too many. Especially in the first couple of miles. Tough to get by the people stopping to get a drink. But I certainly appreciated them in the second half.

  • Comments: This is one of my FAVORITE races. The crowds are amazing, the after party is fantastic, all in all it's a great run to have in the middle of summer training.
