Pre-race routine:

Night before, met Doug and Tracy in old town for dinner and had a great time.

Went to bed around 10:30 and woke up at 6:00
Event warmup:

Drove to Rosslyn, not many parking spots even that far away. Ran 3 miles to the race, got there about 3 minutes before the start, perfect timing.

Comments:

This was a training race to get ready for Marine Corps Marathon in 3 weeks. Goal was 8:30 pace per coach. The 3 mile warmup really helped, got right into a pace, only times I was over were on the sections that had some mild hills.

Saw Sam about 5 miles in, she was doing a great pace, 8:15's to keep up with her and had to get into 8:00 range to pass her.

Ran the last mile in sub 8:00 to show my coach I still had plenty left :) though will probably end up paying for that with my next workouts...
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, great race.
Post race
Warm down:

Ran 2 miles back to the car

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nothing

Event comments:

I was surprised this race wasn't as crowded as I thought it would be, there were supposed to be 30k but only 22 or so ran, even still I pretty much could run my own pace once the gun went off. Will be doing this race next year I assume.
